Heating costs can be reduced with an alternative energy supplier. (Redirected from solar thermal power plants of Sanlucar la Mayor)
The PS10 solar power plant of 11 MW electricity from the sun, using 624 mobile mirrors called heliostats.
The PS10 is a thermo-electric solar power located in Sanlucar la Mayor, Seville, Spain (37A 26'35'N 6A 15'00'O '/'37 44306, -6.25) .
This plant consists of 624 heliostats and a solar tower 114 meters high, produces an output of 11 MW and is only the first of a series of solar plants to be built until 2013 to reach a total production of 300 MW , enough power to supply 180,000 households, or around the city of Seville, which would avoid the emission of 600,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere .
The solar plant, owned by Abengoa Solar, a company headed by business sector Abengoa Solar uses heliostats supplied by the group, which concentrate con edison solar energy on a receiver located at the top of the tower. The solar receiver, designed and supplied by Tecnical-Tecnicas Reunidas, consists of a series of panels of tubes that operate at very high temperature and the circulating water. The steam is produced in them is partially stored in a tank batteries to be used when there is sufficient steam, the remainder is sent to a large steam turbine to generate electricity.
